Well, painting has begun. I mentioned last week on my Pinterest Perfect To-Do post that I quite possibly would be starting a painting project – starting with this inspiration photo. AND – We have!
When we moved in, our living room was this Chocolate Milk Brown color. Even though I didn’t like the color, it was freshly painted, so we lived with it until we had time to change it.
Then, I chose this light tan color that was better – but still not quite right. See how it almost matches the couches = not good! But, it was better than the Chocolate Milk room!
(Sorry for the weird angle – I was actually taking a picture of the carpet for another post)
I love, love, LOVE light colors. They are bright, airy and just scream clean – which I love! So, I found a palate a while back that I tend to gravitate to and I have a plan for the entire down stairs. It will take a little time since I can’t spend everyday painting all day – nor can I afford it! But, we’ve started!
(not the fabric in the background – just the paint lid colors)
Here’s the color we chose- Muskoka Trail by Benjamin Moore:
See it’s not much different – but it’s definitely lighter and fits MUCH better with the current furniture.
I’ll be bringing in the blues and greens in the color palate as accent pieces with pillows, art, throws and more! I am super excited to see it all come together! Hopefully, it won’t take long. But, I’m not one to just run out and buy everything at once. I like to shop around and make sure that I LOVE a piece before committing to it!
First up in the room: this book shelf, turned toy shelf, now turned into a media center!
I’ll be sharing the makeover SOON! I LOVE it in this room! It already makes the space look better. Just wait until it’s painted and styled. I can see some artwork and a big ol’ basket in the corner to fill with extra blankets and pillows. : )
It’s going to be a process, but I’ll be sharing it all with you as it evolves!
