As busy moms, we sometimes forget to stop, take a break and take care of us. I’m so busy taking care of baths, lunches, snacks, homework, and housework that I rarely stop and think about how it affects me by not taking a few minutes for myself each day by either a little quiet time, a relaxing bath or even by making sure that my body is fueled up with good food and exercise. But, it’s so important to take care of yourself first so that you can be healthy and strong to take care of the ones you love!
Try these 4 Tips to Improve Your Health and Wellbeing that will make a big difference each day!
Devotion. Start your day with some quiet time and a devotion. It’s all too often that we jump out of bed and hit the ground running. Kids to get ready for school, breakfast to make, clothes to fold – I get it! But, if we don’t carve out a few minutes in the morning to spend with the Lord, our days get away from us and sometimes it doesn’t get done. Try getting up 20 minutes early each day, open a devotional and your bible and start your day off right. There’s several devotions that I like. Currently I’m reading Encouragement for Today from Proverbs 31 Ministries. You can also download the BIBLE app and get free devotions each day delivered right to your phone. Try it! I bet you’ll be ready to take on the day after spending some time filling yourself up before the day starts!
Food. It’s all too easy to grab a granola bar or even eat the kid’s leftover food, but that’s not really the best option for really taking care of your body. Try making a quick and healthy breakfast and lunch each day. It’s so important to fill your body with good, healthy, whole foods so that your body and mind to work correctly. Have you ever missed a meal and felt anxious, agitated and short tempered? I have! Make something for yourself that will fill you up and keep you going all morning! Check out my Quick Breakfast Ideas and my Healthy & Quick Lunch Ideas that I shared on Extraordinary Mommy this week. I hope you find a few ideas that help!
Exercise. Get out and get moving! It’s hard to find the time each day to go exercise at the gym, but we can all get out and take a walk while pushing the stroller or walking the dog. Getting fresh air helps clear our mind and gets blood pumping. That’s a good thing! If you can’t get out of the house, pull up a YouTube video and exercise right along! Exercise is also great for relieving stress. I know that I’m not the only one who needs help in that area! ha!
Small Changes. Make changes to your normal routine that can improve your health. We all really know how to be healthier, we just need to make the effort towards it. Eat less processed foods. Use less chemicals in your home. Drink more water. Try natural remedies before turing to over the counter medications. Just making a few, simple changes to your everyday routine can help you feel better, look better and have more energy!
Try a few of these suggestions and see what works best for you! Everyone’s different, so what may work for me – may not work for you. The important thing is to start taking better care of yourself. You’ll feel better and you’ll be able to care for your family better!

Seriously I cannot tell how you much this post resonates with me. Every single thing you said, I’m shaking my head YES!!! I have been meaning to get back in to my devotionals but always feel like there is so much to do in the morning. I need to get back to it – I know how hugely important that is for inner wellbeing and to my faith! Great post.
