Easy Sausage Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls

I totally have a weakness for crescent roll appetizers. Taco rings, pigs in a blanket, cranberry brie bites—I will take them all! I don’t know what it is about crescent rolls that makes them so dang good, but I would eat just about anything rolled up in that puffy, soft, golden-brown dough. Even better, when you use crescent roll dough, you’re saving yourself the hassle of having to measure out flour, make a dough, wait for it to rise, etc. Who has time for that?!

These Sausage Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls might just be my easiest crescent roll recipe yet! All you need to do is stir together the sausage and cream cheese, then roll it into the triangles of dough. Basically, you’re stuffing your crescent rolls with deliciousness! If you’re making these for a party, you can make the filling in advance, then roll it up into the crescent dough and pop them in the oven just before you plan on serving them.

ingredients to make sausage cream cheese crescent rolls

Ingredients

See recipe card below this post for ingredient quantities and full instructions.

  • Breakfast sausage  – You’ll need to cook the sausage according to the package directions and drain off any grease.
  • Cream cheese – To make it easy to mix the filling, let the cream cheese sit on the counter for a bit so it comes to room temperature.
  • Refrigerated crescent rolls – The kind that comes in a tube!

How to Make Sausage Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls

1. Prepare

Preheat your oven to 375ºF.

2. Make the Filling

Transfer the cooked sausage to a mixing bowl and add the cream cheese. Stir to combine, making sure the sausage is evenly distributed throughout the cream cheese.

3. Cut the Dough

Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles, then cut each triangle in half lengthwise to make two triangles.

4. Assemble

Use a spoon or small cookie scoop to add a spoonful of sausage filling onto each triangle of dough, then roll it up. Place each roll on a baking sheet with the seam side facing down.

5. Bake

Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake the Sausage Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls for about 15 minutes, or until the dough is puffy and golden brown. Let the rolls cool a bit before serving (the filling will be super hot!), but serve them warm.

How to Store and Reheat Sausage Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls

If you have any leftovers (doubtful!), pop them in an airtight storage container and refrigerate them for 3 to 4 days. Reheat them in a 350ºF oven or in the microwave. Sausage Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls can also be frozen for up to 3 months. Let them thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.
