This post is sponsored by Pear, Ritz Bits and Global Influence – however, all options are my own.

As soon as my son was old enough to pick up a ball, he never put one down. From football to baseball to soccer – Andrew, 6,  has always been drawn to playing a sport and is pretty good at it! He’s the kid that watches a game on TV, records it, plays it year-round and then plays along as it’s on TV. He’s also the kid who is into the game. I mean…really into it. He stands on the sidelines and watches his team play even when he’s not in the game and cheers them on no matter what. I think it’s safe to say, we’ll always be in some kind of sport with this one.

One of Andrew’s favorites (along with football and baseball) is soccer. Just this past year Andrew played in an independent league during the Fall and Spring seasons. He loved it! Although we paid a registration fee for Andrew to play, we still had to provide soccer shoes, socks and shorts. The only thing included in the registration fee was a t-shirt with his team name and number on it and  a small trophy at the end of the season.

The fields we played on were pretty basic and didn’t include goal nets – only two cones to aim for. It would be nice to have full uniforms and a nice field with actual goals, but I don’t believe the funds are there to provide those things. It would be nice to be able to raise funds to help out, but honestly with all the other fundraising we do for the school and such, it’s hard to get people to donate to extra curricular activities. That’s where an organization that helps to link businesses with organization for donations would come in handy and that’s exactly what Pear does to help!

Pear is a social engagement platform that helps groups earn sponsorships from brands – for free. Pear matches up sponsors with groups and organizations within the community. The mission is to make sponsorship simple and easy for both parties. And right now, Ritz Bits is offering more than $100,000 to sponsor to youth soccer teams across the country by providing team apparel or providing a donation for team/league fees. There is no catch – Ritz Bits simply wants to generate goodwill in the youth soccer community!

How does it work?

Sponsors have money to donate, but they don’t always know how or where to donate it. Pear works as the middleman to help connect sponsors and groups in need. Pear helps the group leader create a Pear, and the group leader invites others to join. A dedicated community manager at Pear will help groups get the most money from their Pear. Groups earn sponsorship money by creating a Pear for their group and sharing with others who complete digital incentives to earn more money. Each group can earn up to $1,000 within a 10-day time frame. That $1,000 can be used toward team apparel or can simply be a donation to the soccer team for team/league fees. Each team member completes digital steps on behalf of Ritz Bits to earn dollars – things like liking Ritz Bits on Facebook, following Ritz Bits on Instagram or signing up for an email. For every step team members complete, they’ll get dollars towards their goal. The more tasks you complete, the more dollars you earn for your sponsorship. At the end of the 10-day period, group leaders claim an online certificate for the amount earned redeemable at any Pear printer or a check will be made out to the individual responsible for handing financials for the soccer team or organization.

You get to keep whatever amount you earn. It’s completely free to participate. It’s zero cost to you, and no are donations required. So far, there are more than 1,700 participants and more than 250 Pears.
