Well, Wilton shared a secret strategy to cut perfect slices on a round cake! Their method works for 8-inch or 16-inch cakes and you can have professional-looking, uniform slices! Apparently, the only size cake that should be cut into wedges as I do is a 6 inch sized cake!

The Best Way to Cut A Cake
According to Wilton, the best way to cut a round cake is to first cut a round circle about 2 inches in from the outer edge of the cake. Then you cut that outer circle into pieces that are about 1 1/2 inches.

If your round cake is a larger size, like 12 inches or 16 inches, well you would repeat the first part where you cut a circle 2 inches in and then cut it into pieces. Repeat this until you get down to the 6 inches again! How easy is that? The inner part can be sliced into about 12 wedges!
