It’s time to give the tablets, phones, and all other electronics a rest and do something creative with your kids.
I’ve partnered with the Paper & Packaging – How Life Unfolds® campaign to share some great ways you can get creative this summer using everyday paper and packaging materials.
You can do a little science project, do fun crafts, or even make a reading nook, and just let your kid enjoy the more simple things in life.
Activities For Kids To Cut The Technology Cord
Get Hands On: Create a science project bug sensory bin that your child can rummage through to find creepy-crawly beetles and worms. This is fun for kids, and they can even make their own ‘magnifying glass’ by decorating a toilet paper roll and looking through it to inspect the bugs.
Get Colorful: Print out some paper coloring pages that you can do with your kids anywhere. On rainy days, you can draw inside and when the sun is shining, take the supplies outdoors and let the colors of nature inspire your designs. These are some fun summer inspired coloring pages you can print out.
Get Building & Reading: Get your child more interested in reading by creating a fun reading nook area. You can use empty large cardboard boxes to create the walls and then have your kids personalize it by drawing on the walls to make the space their own. Then add a few colorful pillows to make it comfy. When you create a space that is fun and exciting it will help lure your child to want to spend more time reading so they can have fun in the space.
For some other fun quick crafts, if you have cardboard rolls, consider a cardboard roll snake craft. This is a fun one to make and your child will love creating a fun and unique snake.
What is your favorite way to spend your summer days with your kids?
