Mexico might not be the first place you think of when you think of family vacation but there are a ton of reasons WHY you could take your family to this beautiful paradise for a Mexican Holiday!
#1 The BEACHES –
OH the beaches. With miles and miles of white sand and crystal blue waters, the possibilities are endless! We took our children to a beach this year and they spend hours in the sand. Building sandcastles, playing football, burying their toes. It was an amazing experience. I can’t imagine taking them to this tropical paradise with palm trees and shoreline for as far as you can see. The picture opportunities are endless!
#2 The Beach ACTIVITIES
So, mom and dad like laying on the beach with a cold glass of water in their hands, but the kids like to do things! Mexico offers endless possibilities! Rent a boat for the day and take the kids water skiing. I’m not one to get up on skis but I am sure my kids would be pros in no time! I know that my mother-in-law even still water skis at an age I won’t mention! haha! Don’t forget that the snorkeling is AMAZING! With those crystal blue waters, you are bound to see a ton of sea life. There’s also whale watching and even baby sea turtles to see!
#3 The Beach HUTS
Did you know that you can stay ON THE BEACH with your family in a beach hut? NO? Well, YES YOU CAN! How fun would it be to pack up your beach gear for the day and walk right out your front door right onto the warm sand?! You’re sure to sleep like a baby with the sound of crashing waves and the smell of sea air. Ahhhh! There’s nothing like it!
#4 The RESORTS
Mexico is known for it’s luxury hotels and resorts! From all inclusive – where all of your drinks and food are included in your room price to more budget friendly options, Mexico offers it all! There’s accommodations for families, couple and even adults only. I’ve heard about those adult only places and I’m sure I’d need to be in much better shape to vacation there! haha! I’m sure it’s a romantic vacation dream. We’ll stick to the family resorts with kids!
#5 The CULTURE
Mexico is country rich in culture. With the volcanoes of Ixtaccihuatl and Pico de Orizaba to the Mayan ruins and the local festivals such as the Day of the Dead Celebration. Mexico has something to offer year-round. The day of the Dead is rich in history and color! The Mexicans honor their family that has passed on with parades, parties and meals. They decorate with skulls and skeletons – much like a lot of our Halloween Decorations.
It is a wonderful holiday destination year round! I know I’d love to take my family there during the dark, dreary winter days. The best time to visit is between October and May. Perfect for getting away from the cold midwest for us! June to September is the hottest time of the year in mexico. It’s not the perfect time, but I’d take it! Also, when planning your trip, keep in mind that Hurricane season is between June and November. I would REALLY be upset if we weren’t able to travel due to a horrible Hurricane.
What’s for certain though..is that if you plan a Mexican beach holiday for your family at any point in the year, you won’t be disappointed!!
